Garry Robertson got his start in freestyle motocross via fellow Pennsylvanian Adam Jones. “Adam corrupted me,” laughs Garry, a Yamaha-mounted rider who is sponsored by Offroad Express, Fox, and FMF.
“My major accomplishment is being 30 years old and paying the bills by riding my dirt bike,” says Robertson, who mostly contests the IFMA Ramp to Ramp tour and the Monster Jam series. “Monster Jam is basically where I’m at, because I’m just a demo guy—I don’t have the 75-foot flip.”
Along with riding freestyle, Garry also owns and operates www.robertsonfmx.com, which specializes in building freestyle ramps and performing freestyle demos.
For 2006, Robertson plans to continue the Monster Jam tour, and join a special tour to Kuwait to do a demo for the soldiers. “It’ll just be cool getting the opportunity to give something back to those guys,” he says.
