Freestyle Motocross IFMA Freestyle Motocross Hampton, VA Friday 7:30PM - Hampton brought in a small crowd with huge heart and their noise pushed the riders to one of the finest shows of the year. This weekend also had David Chavez riding Moto-Trials and if you have not ever experienced trials in person-you are missing out. The Hell on Wheels BMX Stunt team impressed with a knock-out appearance by Dew Action Sports Tour Gold Medalist Scotty Cranmer. The Ogio FMX Qualifier sent four riders into the final with a top qualifying run by Billy Walls who scored a 91.0. Sean Nielson, Greg Hartman and Doug Cossey rounded out the top four. The Torco Racing Fuels Team FMX had three teams with the crowd determining the winners. Billy Walls and Sean Neilson won it with a heart-stopping run giving twice the danger and excitement. The Toyota Tundra final had all four finalists pulling out all the stops for the raucous Hampton fans. They went crazy for Cossey, Hartman and Neilson but the topper was Billy Walls whose tricks had so much pop and extension that he would not be denied the win. The crowd was behind him from the word go and he gave them just what they wanted. Hartman/Esposito 3 Cossey/ Siegal Saturday 8PM - FMX presented by Toyota Trucks in Hampton, VA Saturdays crowd was a near sell out and the riders were super pumped from the fans incredible noise. Hampton has set the bar for the loudest crowd which all other cities will have to beat. The usual suspects were here tonight and the action was spectacular. The Hell on Wheels BMX Stunt Team wowed the crowd with some firsts from their riders. Young Cory Burglar pulled his first front flip in competition and stuck it perfectly. Scotty Cranmer, Dew Tour Gold medalist, came out and hit the sickest tricks on a sub box that I have ever seen. Scotty’s cousin Buzzy Kinder also got his first frontier in competition as well. Dave Chavez, Extreme Moto-Trials extraordinaire, made the fans get onthier feet with his death- defying acts on the trials course. The crowd pushed him further into his bag of tricks when he laid me on the floor, bunny hopped over me- LENGTHWISE!! I was super nervous- but the crowd saved me from certain injury by getting him over the top. The OGIO FMX qualifier saw Sean Neilson, Billy Walls, Greg Hartman and Clint Esposito make it to the finals on Saturday. These four also competed head to head- to head to head in the Torco Team FMX with Walls and Neilsen winning the crowds approval and the trophy. Onto the the Toyota Trucks Final- Neilson had a great run going but couldn’t finish a Cordoba. He did’nt give up and came through with a no footer to finish the jump. Clint Esposito scored well and was happy with his run and said that the crowd is who got him so pumped during the run. Hartman showed so much heart out there getting into the Toyota Hot Seat when he totally eclipsed him qualifying run. The man to beat all night was Billy Walls. He worked the fans into a frenzy and showed his usual “pop” during the run which won over the fans and the judges for the win. Hampton knocked the dust out of the rafters with their loud cheers and the riders gave them a great show for it. Thank you so much Hampton!!
